Yes, he has offended us all, but if we had to choose one reliable source, just one, who would we choose? Probably we would choose him. So let us remember to separate his behavior and poor interpersonal skills from his research and promotion of the truth. Otherwise we would be unable to explain why we appreciated him before he banned us. We praise his work, we condemn his behavior with us (and others). Also, he just did us a great favor by banning lots of people along with us, so we don't feel as offended. And maybe, deep inside, subconsciously, it is his way of apologizing to us. Acenci, you should look into it from a different angle. Could you please explain how exactly Eric contributed to the flat Earth research and with what specifically? From what I have seen he uses other sources and takes the credit. I might be wrong, but that is the impression from the videos at least. So, I don't praise his work, because it is not his work(unless you consider compiling sources original work), it is the work of others that he presented and took credit for. I agree he is an eloquent speaker though. Mark Sargent did pretty much the same, but he also added some extra bits, which at least to me seemed original. Eric took sources from the 1800's and early 1900's, and put them in one set. He got it all that way. Eric is a presentation guy, not really a research guy. Even Eric's "Flat Earth Conspiracy" video, is a compilation of cut and paste scenes from videos made by "my perspective", "jhenningkellogia", "cesar", Matt Boylan, and many others. Eric took their original videos, and made a compilation video. |

Well, so, did any of you read one of his books from start to end? If you didn't, we can't make such accusations, no matter how resentful we are. And we are resentful, so that might affect our judgment.
Furthermore, being someone who doesn't read and just watches YouTube videos, I have to praise someone who has read all the books he read and explains them to me, telling me the parts that answer my questions, as he's been doing on IFERS.
My opinion is that if we put him down as a person, we are destined to contradict ourselves: because we appreciated him before his awful behavior of banning us. So I encourage you all to find something good in him, and point it out in each of your posts. So to keep a mental balance and objectivity and not be blinded by our resentment.
We were kicked out as "shills" because he did not like a part of what we said. Let us not make the same mistake. Let us not deceive ourselves into thinking that everything about him is evil just because he behaved very unfairly to us. Let's keep our objectivity.
We have been avenged by him kicking out more people after us. We were shown that it is not our fault, that we don't have to be ashamed about anything, that we are in good company, in the company of people like UNreal, who managed to behave very politely even after he was kicked out. We have enjoyed some popularity here thanks to his links to this forum.
And what is most important is that we can make more of a difference if we stay balanced and only condemn his mistakes rather than everything.
If you were to educate someone, you would say "good" to reinforce good behaviors, and "bad" to discourage bad behaviors. So we should do with everyone. "Bad!" to ban us after helping him and believing in him. And "good" for whatever else we appreciate about him. For example, I appreciate that he is a vegan, and, as I said, I appreciate that he read all those books and he explains them to us.
Let us lead by example. Let us show them that we can separate the sin from the sinner. We condemn the sin and we forgive the sinner. I think that is also in one of the Christian prayers, correct me if I am wrong.

Acenci, you are awesome, and you try to make things fair for everyone. That is a good thing. But you are missing the mark on this one.
Eric himself just threw out Caesar from the forum over there, just now. Caesar who does very quality Youtube work, Caesar who was complimented by Matt Boylan and many other researchers. Caesar is now declared a "shill" by Eric. Eric actually used some of Caesar's work in the past. Now all of the sudden, he's a "shill", by the very words of Eric.
It is Christian to forgive. But it is also Christian to discern and recognize a wolf, and name the wolf by name. The Bible says to do that. And Eric is a wolf. Eric is causing people to abandon the truth.

Also, he risks ruining his reputation, each minute. He's putting himself on the line each day, and he's been doing it for years. For us, we can simply change our usernames and there's no trauma. But for him, it is different. All this adds stress to your life.
That's why I would say to him and Mark Sargent and others: if worse comes to worse, you have done more than your share, and you can stop or take a break now, and let others continue the fight. Mark Sargent seems to be holding amazingly well, despite all the attacks he received. Eric certainly does not. Then one could also argue that Mark holds well because he is working for the government, and he doesn't care, and he is paid for the risks he is taking... but then we should also add "I sincerely apologize, in case I am wrong".
Having said this, in my opinion, the fact that he shows such paranoia, and a temper, all goes in his favor, to demonstrate that he is not a "shill" but just a paranoid conspiracy theorist, who has lost his mental balance and objectivity. And who is alienating a lot of his fans.
Sorry, I'll stop preaching for a while. Thanks for putting up with my preaching.

I used to engage on Yahoo message boards about various topics. Often conspiracy material. And there was one guy that was angry, paranoid, mentally unstable. And he was most definitely a paid operator on Yahoo, to the point that he had access to Yahoo's administrative power and structure to cut and ban accounts. He would say the word, and it would happen. He acted very much like Eric. And that man was indeed a paid operator. Just because someone acts paranoid and defensive about their material, that doesn't mean they aren't a shill. Remember that shills will come in all forms. Some with an expensive studio, and some with skype in their mom's basement. Some with kindness and love, and some with anger and paranoia. The point of that wide spectrum, is to fool as many people as possible. Eric acting angry and paranoid, might mean that he is a shill. What can be said for sure, is that Eric totally turns people off to the reality of the flat earth, by his behavior. |

I still don't get it why you think of him so highly. It is good you respect others so much, but I prefer to be more realistic. It was clear to me from the very beginning that he plagiarizes content to gain popularity and acts paranoid when someone disagrees. I am sure that talking about him is what he wants. It is all about publicity for him, and there is no such thing as bad publicity. Regarding his books, if the videos are compiled and he never says anything original why should I expect the books to be better? Obviously if there was something interesting in them he would have already mentioned it during interviews or in his videos. From what I have seen, it is just a compilation of ideas. He wasn't the first one to make a video on flat Earth either. It is also true that Matt Boylan was among the first to publicly talk about flat Earth on youtube, but there have been always people talking about it. |

The word originally referred to an accomplice of a travelling salesman selling quack remedies or similar items of dubious value. The conspiracy theorist calls their opponent a "shill" in an attempt to discredit them by implying that they are paid agents working for the government, the Bilderbergers, reptilian overlords, the Rotshschilds etc, because of course only such people could possibly disagree with them. |

At TFES freedom of speech is paramount. It is very hard to get banned. Your only criticism is of joking around. But humour is important to us. We are the flat earth society. The most ridiculed society ever. Those with a thick skin and a good sense of humour prevail. Sensitive types run for the hills. You cannot face the public without being ready for criticism. And why should it all be one way traffic? When you come to the flat earth society expecting to run rings around the idiots, who expects to be made the butt of the joke? we don't take it lying down, we give as good as we get and we don't pander to anyone. Consider being an FEr on our forums for 10 years. A noob asks about Coriolis and then insults your reply. You only gave the reply for their benefit in the first place, you aren't learning anything. You've done that conversation 50 times before. Its easy to say "I was ridiculed and got a joke response". What did you ask? How serious a reply do you expect? The flat earth society remains intact after all these years because it is a society. Come for the flat earth, stay for the society. Those friendships and bonds are the reason we don't lose FErs. Eric's forum blew up in a couple of weeks. Yes, you don't agree with our methods and they seem odd, but we didn't arrive at them by accident.

After this experience I've had, of getting seriousness and losing freedom of speech at IFERS, I am hoping we will have both seriousness and freedom of speech here, but I can't condemn your forum as much as I used to, because I admit you have freedom of speech there. So, without fueling any further arguments, I conclude that different groups produce different environments, and everyone is free to choose which type of environment he prefers, whether ironic or serious, and whether with an academic language or a basic, plain, simple, practical, down-to-earth approach. |

I was just banned yesterday after 3 posts. Haven't posted on many boards ever but read a lot and have many views contrary to others. Was very upset at how quickly they were throwing around the shill word and expressed my concern. Was going to buy Eric's book to learn more of his views but now I never will. He does good work whether or not it is reproduced. But how can you support someone who won't offer a simple rebuttal before he bans you? I got called names and simply stated that no shill needs to ruin them because they are doing it to themselves. I called no one any names and expressed my concern while holding back on disrespect that I was feeling. Was trying to encourage Eric to use Sargent's momentum to his advantage. Sargent is promoting his work and I believe he is turning down the opportunity to follow up with his counter views on a large scale. Any who, saw you guys moved over here and thought I would throw in a post of support.

I was just banned yesterday after 3 posts. Haven't posted on many boards ever but read a lot and have many views contrary to others. Was very upset at how quickly they were throwing around the shill word and expressed my concern. Was going to buy Eric's book to learn more of his views but now I never will. He does good work whether or not it is reproduced. But how can you support someone who won't offer a simple rebuttal before he bans you? I got called names and simply stated that no shill needs to ruin them because they are doing it to themselves. I called no one any names and expressed my concern while holding back on disrespect that I was feeling. Was trying to encourage Eric to use Sargent's momentum to his advantage. Sargent is promoting his work and I believe he is turning down the opportunity to follow up with his counter views on a large scale. Any who, saw you guys moved over here and thought I would throw in a post of support. You are better off avoiding Eric. And you are always welcome here, for open discussion about the flat earth. But yes, Eric's forum will consist eventually of Eric, his sock accounts, and his lemmings. |

Speaking of Eric's forum, Vauxhall has flooded the board. Eric will be wearing out the delete button tomorrow.

Hello. I have been busy with work, but noticed that Caesar got banned for no reason so I felt so sorry for him and tried to explain it to Eric so he would understand. I am sorry Acensi for thinking for a moment that you were a shill also. I also tried to defend religions against the atheist and I am a meat eater so I did not want to discuss that with Eric. I was mostly interested in discussing Flat Earth Proofs and Theories and communist infiltration into modern day life.

For me, it was really the same. I just wanted to talk about the flat earth. But Eric insisted on going fascist with every crazy opinion he holds on topics that have nothing to do with the flat earth.
