I didn't leak it. I am still busy reading it. Yes, after what we experienced at IFERS, your forum was quite healthy, but maybe too healthy.
For my personal preference, there is too much joking on those two forums. You are friendly, tolerant, and not psychos (which I am for example).
But you joke around a bit too much. Just my personal opinion.

Humour is a great way to keep people engaged. The shape of the earth isn't life or death to most people. In fact it makes no difference to their every day lives what shape the earth is. I've been on those forums for over 8 years. It'd be pretty tough not to have a sense of humour. You wouldn't know, you don't get hate traffic yet as you have no SEO.
the thing I love most about our society ...
the education we provide. Telling kids the earth is flat won't help them get jobs and pass exams. But they come to us and try to prove earth is round. they get replies and rush off to google more. To beat us. they learn about science from our objections, test themselves, learn more in a game of beating us. It doesn't matter to me that our conversion rate is low. Being a flat earther is a journey of personal discovery. Most will never make that journey. But many learn a huge amount from visiting us.
I have never done a public interview for radio or media. I've been asked by everyone from the BBC to local radio stations. But I am doing another interview this weekend for a university. I do provide flat earth puzzles that kids have to argue against for school projects when teachers ask us for them. I do reply to education institutions, libraries and scientific organisations that request our archived data.
I doubt I convert any more people than you do. But I help a lot of people learn, and discover free thinking.
You guys are inward, selfish, angry. Yeah, no one likes to discover they have been fooled, but you won't be angry forever. Then what do you do? How do you use your knowledge for something positive? You make videos to get more hits than Dubay? Get into pointing contests over who is and isn't a shill? Try to discredit someone because they held a theory with an obvious error? Monetise your content?
the flat earth society is lots of things to lots of people. It is anything you want it to be. But it has the power make other people's lives better, even if the message gets a bit mangled occasionally. I'll end with a fable.
A boy was walking down the beach throwing starfish into the ocean. A man stopped him and asked why? The boy replied because the tide is going out and they will dry up and die. The man looked down the beach which stretched for miles littered with starfish. "There are hundreds of thousands of them. You can't help them all. What difference does it make that you threw a few of them back?". The boy smiled at him and picked up another starfish and threw it into the sea. "It made a big difference to that one".

Yes, Thork, you said something right, at least for me, as I feel to be the kind of person that is willing to accept I might have been lied to about the true shape of the world we live in....but hm, nowadays there are various topics that bother me. And the shape of the Earth bothers me the least, it is more a part of the bigger problem of total control and deception which is interfering with our everyday lives much more, posing real threats to our well-being than the actual shape of the Earth. I am not angry about that puzzlepiece that I might have discovered. I am angry about the whole picture the puzzle shows when I add all of the pieces of deception.

As you can see in his posts, he is now a "Deleted Member":  I regret criticizing him so much for the "ad hominem" attacks to Steven, and he did mention, as others, that he did not share his points of view, but, since we founded (or "invaded") this forum for the principles of freedom of speech and mutual respect, I felt the need to remind him that this required respect for everyone, just as I reminded everyone else. But now I regret criticizing him so much. I should have just said it once. Yet we didn't get into any argument over it, so much so that we amicably interacted until the very last day on this thread: serendipitous.boards.net/thread/121/favorite-evidence-flat-earth It could also be that Jess, like many of us, got addicted to this and other forums, and this activity and addiction takes a toll on our psychological and physical state (lack of sleep), and he knew that if he had told us "I am leaving", we would have convinced him to stay. So maybe he decided to quit "cold turkey" as they say. That would explain why we cannot get in touch with him, through any other forums or emails (all inactive now). |

Sigh...Acenci you should really stop feeling guilty for everything. I think that is also the reason why IFERS is still picking on you so much. But ok, I understand that is your nature and overall it is a good thing to always question yourself and your part in whatever conflict may arise....but dont exaggarate it...then it could turn to a drain of energy for you.
I dont think that the LSC-issue was the reason for quitting. Why should it be. We talked a short while about it and thats that. I was criticized too. And I dont jugde Jess to be so weak to somehow take that so seriously to quit. Apart from that, LSC was moderate and decent in his posts as far as I have followed it. No, really, I dont think that could be the reason.

Thanks for the kind words, although I don't deserve them. I have probably turned my good fight for mutual respect into a witch hunt, just as much as Eric has turned his quest for truth into a justification for banning and hurting those who disagree with his truths. It is time that I stop persecuting people for being intolerant. There are other instruments, such as being quiet after saying it once.
So, Jess may have partly been tired for the mentioned reasons or, as you say, for other reasons. In that case, I think it is due to a problem of spending too much time online. That takes a toll on people and probably almost all of us have the same problem.
Sooner or later we will all get tired.
So, let us all agree that when we will get tired, we will just stop posting, but we won't delete our accounts and disappear forever.

Every day some new thought fascism on IFERS, yes, but I stopped looking at it, what sense does it make. Just getting so boring what they do.
Acenci you should really let them talk....dont bother what is talked on that forum. As if the world is watching. It is not.
And then they will lose interest in that stuff. But with going there and reading what they say and quoting it here, you just give them energy to go on.

They are providing free advertising. Until someone will pay for our ads on their website, this only brings us visits.
In fact... isn't this the way you came across this forum, by finding the "shill forum" thread on IFERS, and being subsequently banned?
And what IFERS does and says is relevant to the flat earth subject.
Also, they are not picking on me. There's nothing to pick on. And they are not the type of people who enjoy picking on anyone. In fact, theoretically they root for the underdog and defend the weak, so it is quite the contrary. They do this, because they mistakenly feel that they are under attack. They really think we are "shills" and that we are persecuting them.
I am not even offended anymore.
By banning well-meaning fans, he just keeps on making enemies, or at least "people who are resentful".
Seriously, there is not much picking you can do on people on the internet. I mean: I turn off my computer, and I receive zero damage, so there's really no threat.
But we want the traffic. And it is all good traffic. All their "shills" are good freethinkers.
Also, we can be honored to be considered enemies, and even mentioned at all by Eric. Yes, he treated us very poorly and unfairly. But he is an important name for flat earth. Otherwise, we wouldn't have been his fans to begin with.
I discovered flat earth on February 15th, thanks to his documentary, so I can only feel flattered that 2 months later he mentions me and thinks that I am a government agent. As Sollozzo would say, "You think too much of me kid. I am not that clever".
Instead I am just a fan, who got treated very unfairly, like the rest of you.

Ok, acenci, it is your choice if you want to go on to deliver the IFERS bunch more munition to go on with their shit talk.
I dont see any use in that, regardless if it is advertisement or not.
Apart from that, I dont think it is well invested energy at them moment to try to beat whatever other forum is there in size and members.
IFERS is also just a minor forum in regard of size. If you do the google search you land at the other forums before you find IFERS at some of the following search result pages.
You will end up frustrated if you go on with that rat race.
I dont believe that this will be the next big buzzing forum, not if the topic is such an niche topic like flat earth and other related theories.
Adding to the existing forums you have other sciencetalk forums where flat earth is a sub category or at least they have a thread where they discuss it.
I would tend to suggest we see this as an open facebook-style group where we discuss and who wants to join fine, if not nevermind.
I am not willing to sacrifice too much online energy in building a forum community. I must honestly say that.
Because there is not so much for me to discuss as I already tried to explain. I accept that there is a net of big lies surrounding us and the shape of the Earth might be just one of it.
At the moment I have time for online discussion, youtubing and so on, but this will soon (have to) change. I have some private stuff that I have to concentrate on. I wont close my account should I not have the time to be here so often anymore, but I wont join the rat race in competing against Dubay and his forum. Because he just doesnt interest me that much, he is a no one for me, regardless what he might have done to spread flat earth. He is a no one in that aspect that I will never center too much energy on what he says, what he does, what he is about at the moment. He is not that important regardless if HIS ego tells him otherwise. He is just a yoga teacher somewhere in Thailand who found a topic that he wanted to focus a lot of energy into, found a way to maybe make some money in return for the research he put into it and now he is getting obsessive about it, seeing himself as a kind of guru of the flat earth community which gives him the right from his perspective to dictate what people are allowed to say or think, what they accept for themselves as true or false.
But he has NOT that kind of monopol. He is NOT that important. You CANNOT put yourself up as a kind of leader about a scientific issue. The search for truth is everyones own right and I will never let anyone again dictate to me what I am allowed to believe or not. This is exactly the world I am breaking away from. How could I ever bend to someone like Dubay then?!
I dismiss him for reasons of principle alone. He proved to me to be nothing but a new mind control puppet. Id rather go back to Heliocentrism than listening to him.
Now long talk short.
Let us just relax. Enjoy this community. One will destroy it if you suffocate it with too high ambitions of what has to be achieved.
I dont feel I have to spread the FE theory. I am surrounded by so many people that refuse to listen to me when I try to talk about much more obvious problems around us. Why should I start that ungrateful work to even bring them to question what the shape of the Earth is really like.
I am honestly on a point that I need some peace and rest.
I have been researching so many disturbing things. It is harming me. I want to accept and see what is coming. And find some peace of mind to enjoy life in the meantime.
That is why I dipped into the stuff of YellowRoseofTexas and I have come to the conclusion for me that I am accepting her message.
Big things are going on at the moment. And flat Earth is just a minor problem. Come time come rescue.

I understand your opinions on the rat race, but I also hope you won't mind if I keep updating the IFERS situation here, just because I like to follow their progress or regress, as I've been doing until here. It's just that I am very curious if their forum will be able to succeed at all, given these faulty premises (lack of freedom of speech and lack of mutual respect). I hope you won't feel disrespected for my exercising my freedom of speech.
Regarding Dubay, I agree on his faulty concept of "forum", "debate", "truth", and I agree that he does not have the monopoly on truth, as he seems to think. We also have to add that he treats people very unfairly, and he owes apologies to... probably thousands of people by now.
However, before completely dismissing him as a flat earth researcher, we should consider the following parameters as far as you, me and Eric, and reassess Eric based on how he ranks on them compared to us:
1) books read?
Me, zero. Eric, lots.
2)money made?
Me, zero. Eric, probably 35 dollars (my guesstimate). We have the same status. So he works for free.
3) documentaries made?
Me, zero. Eric, dozens.
4) interview given to other truthers
Me, zero. Eric dozens.
5) books written.
Me, zero. Eric, more than one.
6) post created on own site
Me, zero. Eric dozens.
7)personal name risked?
Me, I use a nickname. He shows his own face, name and even his father.
Based on these parameters, as far as flat earth, he is an authority and I am nobody. And you're probably somewhere in between.
So, let us separate Eric the flat earth researcher from Eric the person with poor interpersonal skills and a lack of mental balance and objectivity, who has basically exploited the enthusiasm of 10 well-meaning members to start his own forum in its first month of life (we posted one thousand messages on it, we promoted it everywhere), and then banned them without any warnings because they did not think exactly like him.
Other than this, OK, let us all rest. Let us not delete our accounts, let us not get addicted to this place (or get rid of the present addiction), and let us provide each other the support we need, because, as you point out, being a conspiracy theorist is not a very relaxing activity.
Before flat earth, I didn't feel the need for a forum, because I could discuss my 911 and Charlie Hebdo theories with anyone at work, but after flat earth, I can't do that any longer, because they will laugh at me.
So the first objective here is to be kind to each other and provide emotional support.

Dubay is a nobody. Let him rot in his own forum, master of all he surveys ... Which is less and less by the day.

Sometimes we make ourselves look like blatant shills by asking questions and thinking for ourselves. Sometimes we even act like we're just interested in a subject but not full blown converts yet. Other times we just like to give off bad vibes you can sense from our keyboards. It pays handsomely and we get to travel to secluded islands in the Caribbean. We have a lot of fun. Haha.
