I still have a lot of issues with the Globe Model. Do you mind outlining what the issues are? Are you ok about us having a thread for it so we can discuss it there? Thanks

Yeah, right on. Me and my friend both got banned from IFERS for pushing this point and asking for a solution from the supposed 'Flat Earth Experts' and 'Flat Earth Specialists'. When my friend posted the video, his account was banned and thread removed. Really. Wow. For someone who claims to be waging a "just war" against the system, accusing those in authority of conspiracy and stifling the truth because it does not accord with the New World Order view, it seems that the same philosophy is held and the same kind of power wielded at the other forum. If someone is truly interested the finding truth, they should not be afraid of it, or afraid of honest, sincere questioning. I know, as a new (and serious) enquirer into the Flat Earth Theory, I was utterly shocked and appalled at the behaviour of the Admins on IFERS. I was immediately accused of trying to 'promote Ball Earth bullsh*t' and those accusations soon gave way to me being labeled a 'shill' for the Globe Model. That is only Eric Dubeys little ego cult though, there are other places where the Flat Earth Theory is being discussed and examined in a serious and open manner., like here :-)

>>Wait a second here...something is not adding up. OK...So according to the video, if I am on the southern tip of South America, and I look UP I can see the stars rotating CLOCKWISE, so far so good. Now I move over to the southern tip of Africa, and I look UP, and I see the same stars rotating CLOCKWISE. WHAT is the problem with THAT? There is no problem. All you see is that somewhere in the sky there is a central point. It will be in a different point in the sky depending where you are. The nearer you get to the poles the higher the point becomes. So in south america you might see it midway above the horizon and in the west and in south africa you will see it lower in the sky and but now it might be in the East You can navigate with the stars so naturally they will be seen in different points of the sky depending upon where you are on "...you wouldn't even be able to see from one side of the flat earth sky 'dome' to the other" There is no "dome". We are not "enclosed", it is not an enclosed system. Maybe that helps

Maybe that helps Ah ok yes maybe that wasn't a good way of putting it. I mean the common sense way of explaining why people in the South CANT see Polaris is because of perspective, and that makes sense. But in a flat model, the viewer would have to be able to see further than the distance from the equator to polaris, if they were to be able to see the concentric circle patterns surrounding the southern circumpolar stars from South America as well as Australia. phoenixthezetete Why does the sky have to be Flat or a dome...why could it not be like a really big flat bowl...

phoenixthezetete Why does the sky have to be Flat or a dome...why could it not be like a really big flat bowl... You are right, it doesn't have to be flat or a dome. A really big flat bowl would be a shallow dome...would it not? But yes, I am willing to accept the sky could be any shape. The problem with the star trails would be the same no matter what shape it was.

Yes, well..did you see the video I posted regarding the visability of the Southern 'circumpolar' star trails? I don't see how the upside down bowl would create that effect either

Flat just seems totally daft when round fits the data

Sun is round. Moon is round AND on clear nights a STAR can be seen through it...so not solid OR "meteor beaten"...it is the lesser light. There are no "planets", just stars that the pagans named after their demons. And with the use of a simple sextent we know the sun is not 93million miles away.
And you have no PROOF to confirm what you believe outside of your faith in the words of a gang of demon worshiping pagans. While I have the Saints of God, Holy Spirit inspired men who were used to physically write the Bible.

Just to get back to Pole Stars; this is an updated video quicjky and very simply explaining the Pole Star Problem. Please give it a watch, it's less than 5 minutes long :-) Bear in mind I didn't make the video, and so I woud not say that what we see is impossible on a flat earth. But I have never seen a plausible model that explains it. Flat Earth's Greatest Challenge: Southern Stars - YouTube

Related post from IFERS: ifers.boards.net/post/5078/threadDavidkay's diagram explanation was extremely good, but as he admits it doesn't seem to account for the visible complete circle in the southern hemisphere. The world is flat, but still this circle in the southern hemisphere causes headaches for me. I live right down the bottom of Australia, and we can see it from here, so I can tell you it does exist. Star Trail Time Lapse Star trail Celestial South Pole Stars (time lapse) revolving around the south celestial pole South Polar Star Trails - 1/3/2014 (Processed stack and stills into Video) Now I'm not suggesting that this means the Earth is a ball, because it has been sufficiently proven that it is in fact flat. But even with perspective taken into account this southern circle doesn't seem to make sense. I'm wondering if there is some kind of kaleidoscopic effect occurring in the sky, perhaps due to some quality of the atmosphere or the dome which is distorting the apparent movements of the stars in some way. I don't know.

here's an interesting model showing how the southern stars are possible from a flat earth perspective:

Answer to the Southern Pole Star.....The Southern cross called Crux is always accompanied by two pointing stars called pointers. The southern cross travels around what global earthers call the south celestial pole – and what flat (circle) earthers call the artic circle that encompasses the circle of the earth and is what bounds the ocean waters. The southern cross rotates in the southern points in the sky. Regardless of its rotation, you can always find it by its’ pointer stars. The pointer stars are most important. They shine bright and always point to the Crux or southern cross making it possible to always find exactly which group of stars are the correct southern cross or Crux. To find south, find the middle of the pointer stars, then point directly to the bottom star of the cross, then make an imaginary extended line for the bottom star and the pointer stars ( extending out about four and a half times from the bottom star on the cross) The imaginary lines will come to a cross over point. From this crossover point, due south is directly below. The misinformation is in thinking it will point to the south pole. It will always point downward to the south – the south period. South is everything below the north and on the flat earth model, it works pointing south in each of its' rotations that the tail of the southern cross tale points be it pointing to the east, west, north or south. In summary: At the point where the cross and pointer stars connect, or where it forms a V shape along the imaginary lines, this will be the point where due south is directly below it. The southern cross is a celestial direction to find the North. A southern compass so to speak. No matter where you go on the circle of the earth, the constellations will always show you a way to find the north. You can find the north from anywhere on the earth through constellations. In the North – Polaris and Ursa Major; in the middle of the earth – Orion; in the South – the southern cross or Crux and pointer stars. You can also find north in the northern hemisphere with the constellations of Cassiopeia. You can find north with the summer triangle, with the sun and moon. You can always find north anywhere on the earth. You can find North with a wrist watch. Why? Because the earth is a circle just like the watch face. The entire clock face was based on the Astrolabe which was the precursor to the compass, and the modern version of the sun dial for keeping time. The astrolabe had all the constellations and by turning different layers on the Astrolabe you could find all the constellations as well as due north. The astrolabe was also used as a calculator- it was also the first computer. Latitudes and longitudes were determined by an astrolabe. The time clock mimicked the manner in which the sun and the moon rotates around the circle of the earth. The long hand moves around faster this models the speed the sun moves in 24 hours. The short hand mimics the moon which moves around slower. All navigation was done with the Astrolabe. This could never have worked with the spinning globe model. Only a flat circle earth model. In short – Astrolabes were the GPS system. It still works the same to this very day. The earth is a flat circle. Hope this answers the questions concerning the global argument of the southern pole star.
