We wanted this forum to be a successful experiment in freedom of speech and mutual respect and you leaving or making someone else leave does not go in that direction.

Lion, thanks for your effort and I am glad you stayed and that you are expressing your strong disagreement respectfully. This was a great success for this forum. To have two people disagree so much and yet not disrespect each other with derogatory terms. "Spreading hate" is an objective term and does not have any extra insults added within it. THE VERY INSTANT that Steven brings up his "christ" delusion...or that he is sicking the NSA on anyone, or suggesting any member be thrown into a prison camp...or to deny concave earth is to deny god...or to suggest taking his obviously satanic alchemy antichrist "symbol"...then I am going to hit him with a barrage of posts all over this forum showing what he truly represents. Have him stick to his other alchemist buddy Cyrus Teed's theory about the earth being concave and proving it, and it will be peaceful. IF he dials in the crazy or starts linking and trying to lead people to his page and videos which promote his hate mongering, then I am coming at him in this very forum. Lion, I hope you do hit him every time he does any of these things. I respect you, and he's needing someone like you to call him to the carpet. |

"And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also." (Genesis 1:14-16 KJV)
This verse says that the Sun, Moon, and Stars are "IN" the firmament. Therefore, those waters that are "above the firmament" must be above the Sun, Moon and Stars. AND as a result the Firmament cannot be a DOME!

SO...in keeping with "The Firmament...is NO DOME!" purpose of this thread, let's look at this:
"And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the OPEN Firmament of Heaven." Genesis 1:20
Could the use of the word "OPEN" here mean open as OPPOSED to closed. The portion of the Firmament that is OPEN, i.e. The AIR, as opposed to the CLOSED portion of the Firmament where the sun moon and stars reside.
I have read this verse hundreds of times, and after we have been chatting about the Firmament this stood out to me. Thoughts??

Here's another scripture reference which may not have been quoted, and is slightly off-topic but relates to the waters that are now above the firmament. 2 Peter 3 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. So there is a reason why there were waters covering the earth in the first place. And this cross-references back to Genesis: Genesis 1: 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. |

Just on a side note, did you notice that it mentions four dimensions? You might already know that, but I wanted to point it out just in case, as I thought it was really cool when I found out.

Flat Earth is new to me, and I don't have too much spare time to study it out, but I'm slowly getting there. Thankyou for having me. I haven't had a good look around yet, but I saw this thread on the bible verses and felt safe to comment. I'll be interested if Lion comes back and responds. There's not too many people with a good solid bible knowledge that you can bounce things off! Peacock would share some views with Hovind, but I think Hovind has moved position on a few things since being locked up. I actually haven't listened to Hovind much at all. I'm Australian so I notice the accent, but didn't pick up on them sounding similar. Peacock is an ex-cop and can get quite vocal and very loud, and I remember him saying once that he was asked to try to speak clearer because of the type of accent he has. So he has worked on that. Thankyou for the warm welcome. |

I had it in my head the firmament is a dome shape...... and looking at the world's religious buildings- Dome of the Rock and Taj Mahl etc... they seem to indicate something having a dome above it. That's just me though, and I haven't done any studys on it yet, as I'm a newbie to this as well.

The firmament being a dome makes sense to me. ETA. Just saw it was a meteor you were talking about. Sorry about that. I'm only on my phone, and have limited youtube viewing, so thought you meant something else. |
