Of all the sources I have looked at, the most pleasant (since Robison's "Proofs of a Conspiracy against all the Religions and Governments of Europe, carried on by secret meetings of Free Masons, Illuminati and Reading Societies, collected from good authorities by the Author, Professor of Natural Philosophy and Secretary of the Royal Society of Edinburgh" is a bit heavy for me) and yet also reliable is John Todd. I believe he narrates the Illuminati in a truthful, informative and very intelligible manner, like all sincere people.
